ramadan Iftar recipes
Ramadan changes the eating habits of closely 1/3 of planet earth. Each day at sun set, this routine should repeat itself. At the call of Magrib adhan, thirsty and hungry muslims will break their fast, make the prayers, and then focus on the real matter: the iftar. :-). After the Iftar, some relaxation, and then the heading for prayers again. At the end of the prayers, then it is the start of the good evening time (if you are in a muslim country, because work times change during this month). If you are in a western country for instance, things continue as normal and it is not easy for nostaligic muslim souls, particularly if they smoke during the other 12 months. The cutoff is rough and tough in ramadan.
I forgot to focus on the main topic of this column which is what to eat at Iftar time.
Well a date, and a glass of milk and probably a hard boiled egg (with some salt and cumin with it).
Sweets follow soon after the Maghrib three rakaats, or a real meal if you are in north america!
