Hadith on the Holy Month of Ramadan

The holy month of Ramadan is known to most non-Muslim people as the month of fasting. But to a Muslim, the month of Ramadan is not only about fasting (that is, refraining from food and drink) but also increased worship of God and remembrance of God; as well as controling of negative thoughts and emotions.

The month of Ramadan was holy and blessed before God made fasting during the month a sanctified duty and enjoined it on the Muslims.

To understand the full meaning of Ramadan as explained by Prophet Muhammad, please refer to the selected Hadith below.
